Do I need to drain the radiator to make this replacement?

located near the thermostat housing,where the top radiator hose hooks up.replace it when cooled off.
That's the first place I looked, but no sensor that looks like the replacement part I purchased. Im getting conflicting information from other websites that are telling me its on the engine block rear engine compartment. Ill keep looking.
Removal & Installation 1.6L, 2.0L & 2.5L Engines Disconnect negative cable from battery. Drain cooling system. Disconnect coupler from ECT sensor. Remove ECT sensor from intake manifold on 1.6L or water outlet cap on 2.0L and 2.5L engines. To install: Reverse removal procedure noting the following. Clean mating surfaces of sensor and intake manifold. Check O-ring for damage and replace if necessary. Tighten ECT sensor to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Connect the negative battery cable. 2.7L Engine Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect coupler from ECT sensor. Remove ECT sensor from water outlet cap. Fig. ECT sensor location 2.7L To install: Reverse removal procedure noting the following. Clean mating surfaces of sensor and water outlet cap. Use new O-ring. Tighten ECT sensor to 8.5 ft. lbs.(12 Nm). Connect the negative battery cable.
