What is your question?
This is a random occurrence, other times it runs smoothly. The noise is so loud it sounds like it is going to fly apart. Shows no problems on the dealer computer. I bought this truck last year.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Its random, when it dies it starts back immediately.
How long has your 2006 Chevrolet Colorado had this problem?
A year...1 mechanic and 1 dealer mechanic can find anything.

Hello, it almost sounds like perhaps the torque converter or transmission is exhibiting an issue at the time disengagement of the torque converter and downshifting of the transmission should be occurring. If it doesn't happen as it should, it can cause what you are suggesting. I would suggest a diagnostic tool monitor transmission component operation when the problem occurs.
