When it rains my car will stop and stall. Will not restart for many hours. Why?

Start the engine and let it run, initially take a spray bottle like an old Windex or 409 Cleaner bottle fill it with water and spray the water from the bottle on the ignition coils plug wires or electrical connectors where applicable. These components are supposed to be protected and isolated. As you spray water the engine idle quality should not change if the engine stalls or starts to run rough as you spray the water on that component you have found the offending item.
