Suspect failing 'neutral safety switch' .. Mounted on drivers side of transmission, just below the shift linkage... Try cranking engine with transmission in NEUTRAL, may need to jiggle shift lever while holding key to 'start' position... If the starter then cranks the engine, REPLACE the neutral safety switch!
