Could be a vacuum leak, throttle body issue, engine sensor malfunction or a few other things. This will need to be looked at by a shop. A hands-on inspection is needed or we are just guessing. Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
Hello, the cause of your stalling can be due to a transmission related issue, as if it suddenly is trying to engage a high gear out of "park" then it can stall. It could also be due to an engine performance issue, such as a fuel delivery issue or air intake / vacuum issue. Testing will be needed with diagnostic equipment, shop manual reference materials and a skilled, experienced technician to find the source of the problem.
I agree with the others. I'll just add that you have a lock-up torque converter. If it jerks forward as it stalls in a forward gear, or rearward in reverse, that is likely the cause. You would still need diagnosis to determine why it is staying locked (solenoid, control module, etc) so maybe I'm beating a dead horse here. Good luck!
