What's a fair price to r&dr a heater core, do they have to remove dash?

here where i'm at in NC a small family owned 2 bay radiator a/c shop been going over 60 years gets $650.00,he supplies everything with a 1 year parts and labor warranty.back flush,coolant,clamps, heater hoses included.back when he did mine(2000 f150) in nov.2009,6 years almost it was $442.00 out the door and still going.
