What is your question?
04Beetle. been sitting up 1+yr. New battery. Spits gas from coils and ow it won't start. It was cranked for the first time a month ago. Just tried to crank it again yesterday and the battery was dead and still wouldn't crank along with strong gas smell.. no clicking noise, but car barely turned over and never came close to starting.
What makes this problem better or worse?
The fuel odor gets worse when you try to crank it.
How long has your 2004 Volkswagen Beetle had this problem?
N/A I'm buying the car

Hi. You can't have fuel coming out of ignition coils but you could have a leaking fuel rail or injector that may be spraying in the engine compartment. This can be dangerous and should be looked at by a professional. Here is a link to find a shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
Thanks Alex, Just a quick question, what are some possible caused for that? If the fuel injector is clogged, can it be cleaned? I read that some had to be replaced. I'm looking at buying this car, but I can't afford $600+ to replace the fuel injector. After researching, These cars appear to be money pits. I need something reliable. Thank you for your time.
