What is the reason for a cruise control--set light blinking continuesly?

(2005 Nissan Armada)
in Mableton, GA on April 14, 2011
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada Cruise control problem. When I try to engage the cruise control, the set blinks on and off very fast. I hope someone has seen this before and has a fix. If I find something I will let you know.

I have the same problem and was advised by a Nissan dealer that the "spiral cable" needs` to be replaced at $646.00. I am looking for a better answer to this because after spending $147 for the "diagnosis" they offer no guarantee that this will work.

This vehicle has an electronic throttle control which affects the cruise control operation. This is not a problem for someone without experience, knowledge, diagnostics to tackle. Because it is tied into the throttle system I strongly recommend a professional look at this condion for safety reasons.
