What is your question?
The car runs fine for the most part untill the check engine light comes on and it gives me the P0741 OBD2 code with the dash light on when that happens my car seriously losses power especially when accelerating my rpms go up really slow when I know the needle should go up in rpm faster, it feels sluggish, still drives and rides fine like nothing is wrong with it plus sometimes feels better then when the light isn't on, other then the power loss, the acceleration there doesn't seem to be any other problems that I can tell
What makes this problem better or worse?
Quick acceleration and hard braking makes the light come on,
How long has your 2006 Toyota Matrix had this problem?

P0741 indicates a concern with the torque converter clutch solenoid performance. It does not indicate any specific part has failed, more that in whole, there's a system that is malfunctioning. Troubleshooting hands on is needed to find out specifically what is going on. I can tell you that a 15 year old vehicle with unknown miles will likely require transmission overhaul or replacement; many times, a code like this is on due to multiple internal concerns. Even if you were able to replace a component that in theory could help, it would likely be short lived. Your concern is pretty significant and will require professional testing.
