check engine light is staying on the hold button was steady flashing also the temperature guage stopped working

The P2135 (remember the codes have 5 digits) and the temperature guage are likely two separate issues. The P2135 code refers to inaccuracy between the gas pedal sensor and the throttle position sensor. Once of them is likely faulty, and both need to be tested. The engine coolant temperature sending unit and electrical harness should be inspected and tested as well.
