What is your question?
It started when the fuel pump went bad. Changed the fuel pump and fuel filter. Now it has a rough idle and misses out bad going down the road when we try to accelerate. It's worse when we have to come to a stop and misses out badly and backfires and does when we try to go again. I can turn off the ignition and restart it then it will go again until I have to stop. Try to go again and it misses out until it dies until I turn off ignition and restart again. Can anyone please help. Driving my wife crazy. Thank you.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse when we stop at a stop sign and try to go again. Better if i stop then shut off ignition and restart.
How long has your 1996 Toyota Camry had this problem?
A couple months.

Hello, there are engine performance issues present that simply require hands on analysis. This vehicle is OBD-II -- meaning it can be tested with the current style diagnostic equipment and components can be monitored easily for proper operation. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) may be present that will help pin point where to start looking for the source of the problems you are experiencing. I would focus on fuel delivery to the engine and ignition spark at the engine. Additionally there can be air intake related concerns causing issues with fuel / air mixture ratios causing performance problems. Experienced professional help will be able to guide you to find what is wrong.
Thank you very much.
