In the 2.7 the waterpump design is defective. If your waterpump has any issues REPAIR IT IMMEDIATELY- DO NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT!!! It will leak coolant into the oil and cause it to burn. The result is an engine full of sludge. IT WILL DESTROY YOUR MOTOR IN VERY SHORT TIME. Because of it's location you should have the timing chain and tensioner inspected as well. I know this post is outdated. Just putting it out there.
