i started hearing a squealing from the front of the engine. sounds like the water pump. Whats the procedure for taking it off. Looks near impossible.

Replacement Remove the drive belt. Drain the engine coolant. Remove the crankshaft pulley. Remove the six bolts securing the water pump, then remove the water pump (A). Inspect and clean the O-ring groove and mating surface with the water passage. Install the water pump with new O-rings in the reverse order of removal. Clean up any spilled engine coolant. Install the crankshaft pulley. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed air from the cooling system with the heater valve open Labor intensive job. no special tools required. just a lot of patience. good luck Roy
Waterpumps usually dont squeal. Have the belt, belt tensioner and idlers checked first. The water pump might be causing the belt to squeal but I would check other things first. The water pump labor time is about 3.5 hrs. Replacing a belt and/or idler about an hour.
