Vibration under car

What is your question?

When I start my SL500, I get a significant vibration noise from area near the "y" of the exhaust pipes...a knocking sound. Almost sounds like a starter getting hung up. However, noise also occurs when accelerating...typically going up hill. Any thoughts?
