2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7l
Two lights (ESP BAS & the slippery light) would initially turn on randomly which would disable cruise control and shifting out of park (shifter wouldn't even move). Now it's happening every time I use my car. I'll start it and only after pressing my foot on the brake will the lights turn on and disable cruise. I had a local mechanic take a look at it (as the dealer couldn't figure it out) and he replaced the brake light switch. That didn't work so he unhooked something that made it so I could at least shift out of park.
When this issue was occurring randomly, braking hard was one of the triggers but it would also happen just by starting the car and trying to shift out of park.
I've tried googling my issues and looking up videos but I couldn't find anything other than replacing the brake switch light - which I already did.
How long has your 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee had this problem?
Since I got the car - about 1 year - was around 143k miles, now around 156k

Cruise control is automatically terminated by default any time a vehicle operating system fails.. Nothing unusual there!
