Sounds like a broken wire in your steering column put the wheel back in to its first position, this is somewhat common on Ford tilt columns.

yes,you have a wiring concern.Specifically the connectors at the multi-function switch.The harness on top of the steering column does not allow enough slack for the tilt motion and yanks out the connectors at the multi-function switch.You can buy the connectors at your local ford dealer,just be mindful of the wire's position in the connector when you transfer them to the new connector.Good luck!
