Turn over but will not start

So I think it may have something to do with my key to the push button start. When I got in yesterday my brake pedal was hard and when I hit the start button it wouldn't do anything so I bumped the box under steering wheel and it would turn over but not start. It was trying to but wouldn't

There appears to be something malfunctioning inside the vehicle, if you can "bump the box under the steering wheel" and affect any change to the situation. No suggestions here other than to have your vehicle professionally evaluated.
