trunk latch release button wont work

Always start troubleshooting at the passive component end of a circuit - kinda like a light in your home that won’t come on - suspect bulb failure before switch failure - then work back to the power source if necessary. In this case you’ll need a helper to activate switch while you test for battery voltage at the trunk lid release actuator wire connector .. A 12 volt test light is all that’s needed. Good luck!
