What is your question?
Would start after cranking for a few minutes for a month. Now it will not start for anything. Wasn't getting spark when inchecked. Replaced ignition coil, nothing, replaced cap and rotor, nothing, replaced crank positions sensor, nothing, replaced ICM, finally have spark. Still, will crank, won't start. Getting compression, gas pump running and smell gas when attempting to crank. Sprayed the throttle body with starting fluid on crank, nothing. Plugs and wires are in good shape. Timing tested on top dead cylinder one, in correct position. I'm lost. Any common issues with this motor or something stupid I'm missing? Thanks for any help!

Got spark - spraying starter fluid into the throttle body doesn't help : Considering ALL the cranking you've been doing - don't you reckon the spark plugs are fuel fouled by now? Replace the spark lugs.
It is also possible the cylinder walls are washed clean by all the fuel - re-check compression. This ignition system is capable of producing well over 30 kv’s .. That will easily jump a 1 inch air gap! You got that much spark? Good luck!
Yea it's got good spark, checked all wires. New plugs and wires. Pressure tested cylinders, all 150+/- getting gas. Timing check against top dead center piston 1, cap pointing at piston 1 and wheel lined up with motor's markings. Checked and cleaned all ground connections. Still cranks, doesn't start.
Ok - since you mentioned distributor timing - IF the distributor has been removed - That is your problem! The firing ‘pin’ inside the cap for number one is NOT at where the number one plug wire connects to the cap !! Look inside the distributor and follow the circuit from the pin over to the actual plug wire connection - you’ll figure it out ... It’s *almost* 180° away from where the plug wire connects. Timing chain failures on the 4.3L are almost non existent! .. In fact I’ve never had a problem with one of em - and I have worked on a Walmart parking lot full of them in my time. Good luck!
This is a very good troubleshooting flow chart: http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/gm/4.3L-5.0L-5.7L/how-to-troubleshoot-a-no-start-1 **Don’t forget about a severely ‘flooded’ engine** ... Drowned spark plugs! Good luck to ya!
Redid all timing procedures. Cap is pointing at correct pin, that connects to plug wired to first piston. Ensured all plugs are in correct firing order. The cap will only bolt down in one position. Checking passlock system now, but I'm stumped.
IF the spark plugs are soaking wet with fuel - it ain't never going to start !! As much as you've been cranking the engine without it starting - plus adding starting fluid - it has got to be severely flooded by now ! Security light would be on / flashing while cranking IF that is the problem. Security system disables the fuel - you have added fuel (starting fluid) to throttle body - it should have at least 'started' and attempted to run for a couple seconds until starting fluid was burnt. You should at least get a backfire - even if timing / firing order is off ... > That is IF - IF the *spark plugs* are firing (???). !
