Tried to start car without Vapor Canister Purge Valve / Solenoid - now what?

What is your question?

Trying to troubleshoot car problems, I attempted to start my car while the Vapor Canister Purge Valve / Solenoid was removed. The whole car shut down, lights and all, and now the lights are dimmed, the car wont start even after attaching the Vapor Canister Purge Valve / Solenoid. The battery is fairly new, less than a year old. Did I fry something? The speedometer moves a little when the car is off.
