What is your question?
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus. When I bought the car, the previous owner showed me a reciept of all of the work that he had done on the car a month before I bought it. On the list was a "refurbished transmission" I bought the car and it was running great. Until one day I noticed transmission fluid leaking towards the rear end of the car. I then had to continuously put transmission fluid in the car each time i drove it. (female college student that didn't have enough money to take it to a shop) Everyone I have talked to wants to charge me just to look at the car. Does anyone know what might need fixed? After doing much research I came up with the possibility that it might need a new rear transmission seal. is this correct?

The Taurus is a front wheel drive and does not have a normal rear seal like a rear wheel drive. There a many places it could leak and paying for an honest evaluation is usually the cheapest way to go. I have seen nothing in life that has been free, and those that use the free come on have normally cost me far more than those that simply charged for their service. Very important is to replace the fluid that is loss or the transmission will burn up. Transmission fluid lubricates as performing hydraulic functions. Good Luck
