I assume you have a manual transmission. I recommend getting the trans lube changed. If that doesn't help, Get the clutch checked. If it's not releasing properly, then the transmission would be hard to shift. Or get the clutch checked first, a failing clutch may danage the transmission, so do it ASAP.
