My probe is acting like the transmission went out but it still moves in drive and thats it. the car wont go backwards in neutral or in reverse.

Check the level while the car is in park with the engine running. If the level is right, then you may have a worn out reverse clutch, which means transmission work. I would also scan the computer, because, you may just have a bad reverse shift solenoid. Any Check Engine Light on?
