3.0 automatic. began "slipping" on the way home from work, pulled it over and let cool for 2 hours. I was able to drive it home (about 2 miles)at that point with minimal slipping, but would not go above 30 mph. I did some research and checked the trans fluid...3 quarts later and it had still not overflowed the fill hole. More research and checked the radiator coolant, sure enough red and oily. Could anyone varify that this is probably a bad radiator, and what are the chances that the tranny is toast, its not making any noise...just sluggish and wont shift correctly. could a new radiator and coolant change fix...should I try it myself or does this need a pro??

If you have coolant in your transmission fluid, and you're experiencing what you are, it doesn't look good. Transmissions do not like water or coolant at all... The cooler in the radiator was probably the initial failure, but now things seem much worse. You could always try to flush it all out, but the damage may already be done.
