One TPMS battery is dead, can I still reset the light, or will it stay on.

Got new tires 16" put on my 2014 Jeep Patriot 2.4L Sport, factory wheels. TPMS light illuminated and there is no reset button under the steering wheel. Mechanic said 1 TPMS is bad. Can I still reset the TPMS system to make the light cut off or will it stay illuminated until I replace the TPMS sensor?
