Tire tread and wobbly steering

What is your question?

The tread on my the two front tires on my VUE are almost gone (the back two have excellent tread left) and the past week the steering seems off, slightly wobbly and loose. Besides the obvious of new tires needed, is it safe to drive until I get new tires or is it building to a bigger problem?

building to a bigger problem. belts could break causing a blow out. Roy

To maximize tire life it is best to rotate tires front to rear when possible keeping tires with deeper thread depth on the rear otherwise you end up with tires worn out on one axle either front or rear which could comprise handling. Once tires get below the tire wear indicator they can quickly become dangerous worse if any "chord is showing".
