I have a 2009 VW CC. The hydraulic tensioner on timing chain looses pressure and the timing chain jumps sprockets. The end result is bent valves in the engine. Shop had to remove head, machine it, replace all valves and reassemble engine. Cost $2900 (parts and labor) in Dallas, TX. Price seems reasonable, since I found a kit for all the parts (valves, timing chain, tensioner gaskets etc.) on line for about $1900. The rest I guess is labor for the shop and the machine shop. Hope this helps.
I have or had a 2012 CC, I was just told that I need to replace the whole engine for "about 6,000" I've had this car 8 months, the oil consumption is ridiculous and now I have no car! What has anyone found out about a class action suit? I read that there was one filed about 3 years ago. Thanks! Oh, and anyone want to buy a really big paperweight?
Kkhle - where did you get the fix done at? I'm in Dallas and have the same issue. Got a 6k quote from metro VW. Not too pleased.
