How often should the timing belt be replaced?

On 1997 and previous models, cars driven in " normal conditions" Toyota do not have a specific maintenance interval but every 60,000 miles is good service practice. From 1998 Toyota recommend replacing the Timing belt every 90,000 miles or 72 months which ever comes first.
