it doesn't make the noise with the a/c off,I have replaced the tensioner pulleys and and it seems to be in or around the compressor, do you know what is causing the noise

GM has a bulletin out about this issue. The cure is to replace the A/C compressor. The original compressor causes the belt tensioner to become damaged from the startup load on the belt.
You may have bend reed valves in compressor if you turn the compressor around ten revolutions it may bind verifying the internals are bad.
is there a recall on it?
