What kind of "theft system" do you have? If it is an aftermarket installed alarm, you should have an override button under the dash somewhere that you can hold while cranking over the engine. If you are speaking factory anti-theft - the key has the chip in it and you don't need the remote. Also, if the horn blows when you open the door, simply turn the key in the door key cylinder to deactivate the horn. The Ford factory system has a deactivation switch in the door cylinder and ignition cylinder. I'm thinking you have an aftermarket installed alarm based on your question. A repair shop can permanently disable an aftermarket alarm. Factory alarms are permanent and non-removable.
need help! I have 2, 2000 ford explorers. I had to change the ignition from one to the other and won't start. The chip in key doesn't match and makes the anti theft light blink. How can I diable the anti theft system?
