As described. It happens at least half the time.
I also find inconsistent locking with the touchpad. This happens often.
Wiper ( especially the rear) scratchy noise. The SUV has less than 5000 miles in 6 months. Audi has a problem with the wiper blades. We have 2 Quattro wagons also. Wipers scratchy,noisy within a short time. Pricey to replace. Audi has poor design.
What makes this problem better or worse?

That said - seems to me you have some functionality questions that should be directed to dealership sales product specialist personnel, and further should seek the dealer service department's guidance for your wiper concern.
Our 2019 Q7 rear wiper worked poorly and the dealership there was nothing wrong. I ordered a new arm and replaced it and now it works fine.
