What is your question?
First thing in the morning when I turn the ignition on a cold engine it makes a loud, screeching noise until I shift into drive. It's been getting worse the last year. The car is 10 years old but only has 34,000 miles on it.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It only happens when the engine is cold.
How long has your 2009 Toyota Yaris had this problem?
a year or two

Check your accessory drive area -- is the belt slipping? Is there a pulley that is dragging, or is the belt perhaps old and dry rotted, preventing the ability for the pulleys to turn as needed?
