What is your question?
I got my starter changed. In the process he forgot to disconnect the battery and it sparked while installing the starter. He got it in. It started but my power steering went out. A week later starter went back out. Replaced it. Another week later. It’s out again

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Wow, a lot of activity here. I do not see a starter failure being due to how it was installed. I would be more concerned about the quality of the starter motor in the first place. Is it a known good quality GM part? Or a low cost aftermarket alternative? Are we certain that the starter motor itself has failed? What testing has been performed? I do not like to assume anything, so I have to suggesting testing be started from the beginning to find out what is going on. Yes, low quality starter motors can exhibit repeat failures, so - it's difficult for me to guess what is happening without testing hands on. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
