WHEN I TURN ON THE DEFROSTER MY BELTS START TO SQUEAK.

sounds like when you turn on the defroster either the extra power needed to run the fan is making the alternator belt slip or if you have AC possibly that belt is slipping because the AC compressor is belt driven and also runs when its in defrost mode
