speedometer/odometer

I have replaced several clusters in these 535i cars so eventually they do wear out or components in them do. Is your car a stick or an auto-trans? You would need to check the back of the Speedo head and verify that it is getting a signal while the vehicle is moving. You could check the speedometer sensor on the trans ans see if it is sending out a signal as well. A speed sensor is about $45.
