Fuel smell is probably as you already know is from a fuel leak. Follow the fuel lines, looking for sign of leak. Also pay attention to the fuel rail area, you might have a injector leaking fuel on top of the engine. As for the oil leak, you do not have to have a Mazda brand gasket, to repair this problem. The key to repair of this type is proper cleaning of the area to be sealed. and tightening the fasteners to the right torque, you can get to tight and to loose either way will cause a leak even if the gasket is good.
