Replaced wiper motor and linkage. Now the fuse blows imediately. Why?

I thought my wiper motor was bad because wipers wouldnt work and the fuse was fine. So i replaced the motor. Then found out the linkage was seized. I replaced that as well. Now it moves but the fuse blows whwn i turn the wipers on. Why?
