Need to be replaced having problems with fan not turning off po118 issues smell of gas fumes. Ect.

Hello, Your coolant temperature sensor is likely faulty, or the wiring for the sensor is damaged. You will need to test the sensor and wiring harness (pigtail) to find which component is bad. The fan is staying on because the vehicle thinks it is overheating.
