Red light comes on

Hello, I believe that is the low engine coolant warning light. Do not check the coolant level when the engine is hot, this can result in serious burns. Your car was likely made with dexcool, and there is likely a leak in the cooling system. I recommend consulting the owners manual for the proper type of coolant, topping the coolant off (if low), and if the coolant becomes low again, have the system pressure tested for leaks.
