Ford Recalls 1997 F150/250/350 Trucks for Missing Retainer Clip

Recall Details

Ford has recalled certain 1997 F150, F250, and F350 trucks because the retainer clip that holds the master cylinder push rod to the brake pedal arm is missing. If the pedal becomes detached, brake loss may occur. Dealers will check to see that the retainer clips are installed and will replace them if necessary.

Summary
THE RETAINER CLIP THAT HOLDS THE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD TO THE BRAKE PEDAL ARM IS MISSING.
Consequence
A LOSS OF SERVICE BRAKING CAN OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO VERIFY THAT THE RETAINER CLIPS ARE INSTALLED AND IF CLIPS ARE MISSING WILL INSTALL CLIPS.
