The engine block heater cable on equipped vehicles may short circuit due to damage caused to the splice connector of the cable during a previously performed recall procedure. Dealers will disable the engine block heater from being used until replacement cables become available. When cables are available, owners will be notified and the cables will be replaced free of charge to resolve the concern.

Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in April, 2019. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
