Ford Recalls 2001 F150 Trucks for Possible Brake Hose Damage on Assembly

Recall Details

Ford has recalled certain 2001 F150 trucks for a concern with the left front brake hose. The brake hose may have been damaged during assembly at the factory. A damaged brake hose runs the risk of developing a leak, which can increase stopping distance. Dealers will inspect and replace affected hoses.

Summary
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS. THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE WAS DAMAGED DURING FINAL ASSEMBLY.
Consequence
IF THE HOSE IS DAMAGED, BRAKE FLUID COULD LEAK AND STOPPING DISTANCES MAY BE INCREASED.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MARCH 20, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-248-0186 OR 1-800-392-3673.
