Recall on 2009 Sportage ESC Off light was fixed but now again. Covered or no?

What is your question?

Had 2009 Kia Sportage fixed because ESC Off light on, cruise control inopperatable and rear lights out. Three years later the exact thing is happening and the dealer says the warranty of the recall repair is expired so I have to pay to get it fixed. Has this happened to others? If so, what can I do?
