I purchashed my 2002 Sequoia used two years ago, it didnt have an owners manuel, is there a hatch release switch on the inside of my SUV to open my hatch because the handle on the outside in the rear is broke and I can't raise the hatch.
no there is no inside release. You have to use a flat screw driver and feel for the part of the latch the handle pushes down on. My handle has broken twice in the 10 years I own the vehicle. Pushing the hatch in will relive some of the pressure on the latch mechanism. I now always push in slightly when I open the hatch, becuase it puts less stress on the handle. It is made of plastic. Go figure, breaks Toyota sell more.
