Radio display fades in and out

Sounds like the radio circuit board is wearing out, thus that is why it works if you press on it. In most cases you need a new radio. If you have a removable face type of after market radio, sometimes you can clean the contacts and that will help, at least for awhile, I used to do that with my removable face radio and it lasted another 2 years.
