these radios require 2 buttons be held to bring up a "1000" screen in the radio window. from here you can enter your code using the preset buttons. which 2 buttons depends on the model radio. early vw/audi radios were soft coded so the code may not be obtainable from the dealer. soft coded radios came from the factory with code 1234. some people or dealers used the last 4 of the vin. if too many wrong attempts were used try disconnecting the power plug to reset or leaving the radio on for 1 hour until screen changes. again, early radios may only have 6 wrong attempts total, then you need a radio.

Do you have the radio security code? Using that number the radio code is entered using the radio preset buttons on your stereo. I have a Cabrio that the previous owner lost the security code , I have now got to take out the radio for the dealer to give me the corresponding radio security code.
