Radiator cooling fan not coming on

(1999 BMW 328i)

Has 12volts to fan module, also motor does run when voltage applied. How do i troubleshoot controls properly.

Best way is to use a scan tool to look at the coolant temp and then to see if the engine computer is turning on the fan when it should. Does the fan come on when you turn the A/C to a really cold temp? (This will test some of the system) It absolutely should!.

Used a scan tool. Found coolant temp sensor faulty. Replaced sensor, the fan operates as it should now. Thanks!
