The thermostat was recently replaced. The car has 204k Miles. We have had dogging in the car post thermostat replacement, but not consistently.
How long has your 2008 Volvo XC70 had this problem?

Its hard to say without looking at it. Some cars have exhaust that runs down the middle and can cause an increase of temperature in teh center console after long trips. If its getting abnormally hot I recommend having someone look at it. Could be a safety issue. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
