This issue just developed on Friday (November 3, 2017). Will open and close with as normal, but will not remain open until I am ready to close it. I have never had this issue before.

Hello, The liftgate support struts are likely worn out. They help the motor raise the liftgate (a little), but they hold the weight of the liftgate when it is open. It is only the struts that hold the liftgate up when in the raised position. Ten years is a very good service life for these struts.
