What is your question?
my 2007 xc70 died and i am waiting for a road side assistance. the engine seems to be extremely hot. Anti freeze fluid is full. when the car was idle right before it chocked it was coughing. All lights came on before the car died. i just started the car, and the car started fine. what the heck is wrong?
What makes this problem better or worse?
leaving it off seems to be making it cooler therefore better.

Hello, it's way too impossible to interpret from your concerns. What is it that makes you think the engine is "extremely hot"? An engine will operate at temperatures over 200 degrees, so "extremely hot" can be normal. The engine may stall from overheating, yes, but also from engine performance issues in general. Testing is required to find out what is lacking when the problem occurs; it's too hard from the description you have provided alone to determine what is going on.
